Viktorija Bevc MA from Ljubljana

Viktorija Bevc, MA receives the award for an original educational and training programme for quality partnership and substitute parents-ship. The aim of the programme is to assure the children without their own parents a happy childhood and a healthy personal development. She carries out the programme within the society Deteljica (Clover) which she founded herself. The upholding principle of all the activities is the non-formal learning and acquisition of new skills and experiences either at societal or personal and partner's level. "The conviction that we are ‘born as good parents' is erroneous. For quality parents-ship we have to learn a lot and we have to grow personally" believes Viktorija Bevc. Her training programme takes into account various fields, from getting to know the legislation and state measures through professional aspects of social work, overcoming the distress of children in foster parents, distress of mothers who give children up for adoption to the very concrete forms of help to persons who decided on adoption or fostering the child.
