Dr Jurij Jug from Velenje

Dr Jurij Jug has constantly researched the field of adult education, has tried himself in practice and asserted himself at home and in the international level. He implemented lifelong learning in various fields of formal and non-formal learning and education, as a teacher in higher education, in various seminars, evening schools and in peoples' universities, as the director of the museum, and also by publishing in numerous professional publications and in media. An extensive field of the professor's work is dedicated to the research of philosophical, cultural and historical background of pedagogical, andragogical and human resources theory and practice. He led research projects of national importance. Among them the most well known are The formation and development of adult education in Slovenia in the periods 1750-1918, 1919-1941 and 1945-1990 and New methods in adult education.
