Dr Ivan Kejžar from Kranj

In his rich professional pedagogic years Dr Ivan Kejžar was active in various fields: he was organisational adviser in companies, organiser and lecturer on functional education, university professor and researcher. He has accumulated 40years of experience in the domain of adult education, for 30 years he combined his pedagogic and research work with the objectives of the faculty of Organisational Sciences in Kranj. Dr Kejžar was first employed in industry as a technologist and organiser of education. In order to be able to develop his own method of planning - the organisation of employees' education within companies - he already in those days conducted several explorations of the performance of educational centres. In this manner he created an original system of functional education of personnel, especially of employees in the top positions. He introduced some creative contributions to the domain of systematisation and evaluation of work, nomenclature of vocations, training of personnel managers, education related to safety at work, planning, programming and organisation of probation, education of instructors of practical work activities as well as training of education organisers. As a pedagogue he always applied the most advanced forms of educational processes. Some of them he also additionally developed and thus adapted them to educational contents, for which he was, as a lecturer also directly responsible. Due to his rich experience he was frequently acting in the role of an adviser, he led the Centre of Functional Education and Counselling, he was head of the Organisational Cathedra and the publishing house Modern Organisation. He elaborated, completely anew, approx. 100 educational programmes and cooperated at functional education of over 2000 Slovenian managers. He elaborated new solutions for educational systems for around 50 companies.
