http://

The fund is operating since 1979 when then 9-years old Mitja with Down syndrome died in a car accident. The idea was born then that something good must come out of the sad experience. Thus the first organisation in the Trieste region was established which assured help to people marginalised because of the sickness and especially precious because it was meant for the Slovenian population abroad. The fund is devoted to care and training of the younger adults with different levels of handicap and help to their families. It also develops various forms of social networking and education. Apart from Mitja Čuk fund, an educational and working centre was established in 1988 for all those younger adults who found themselves in physical or mental distress. The magazine Škrat (The goblin) is intended to connect and educate people. It is being published for eleven years and is very welcome for the health and motive affected youth sharing with them non-formal and cultural contents.
