'Our world, our dignity, our future' is the slogan of the European Year for Development (EYD 2015), the project with the following aims:

• To increase awareness and inform European citizens on international devlopmental cooperation and humanitarian aid.
• To trigger their interest in this kind of cooperation and increase the understanding of these themes.
• To inspire more Europeans to get engaged and involved in development.

Activities are carried out at European, national but also local level and they are aiming at reducing poverty, establishing a more stable, peaceful, successful and fair world for all and fostering sustainable development. Information, examples of good practice and experiences is being exchanged and training for development cooperation is being provided. Crucial values that are at the heart of all activities: solidarity, responsibility and inter-dependency.

The national coordinator for EYD 2015 is the Ministry of Foreign Affairs which initiates cooperation among various stakeholders. The Slovenian Institute for Adult Education (SIAE) is one of its partners in EYD.

The EYD is the leading theme of LLW 2015 therefore providers of LLW events have been asked to design their events accordingly. The subthemes relevant for the extended LLW period are:

• May: Peace and security
• June: Sustainable Green Growth, Decent Jobs and Businesses

EYD influenced some of SIAE's events at national level: The annual AE conference 2014, the National LLW opening  2015, the  Learning Parade 2015 and the Adult Education Colloquium 2015 .
