The central theme of LLW 2007 has been determined by the European year of equal opportunities for all with the slogan ‘Towards a just society'. A recommendation was given to LLW providers as to design their events by illuminating the importance of lifelong learning in the fight against discrimination women and men are facing on the grounds of sex, racial or ethnic origin, religion or belief, disability, age or sexual orientation.

LLW events were meant to contribute to the realisation of goals which relate to:

• Raising awareness on the right to equality and non-discrimination and on the problem of multiple discrimination;
• Stimulating debate on ways to increase the participation of groups in society which are victims of discrimination and a balanced participation of men and women;
• Facilitating and celebrating diversity and equality;
• Promoting a more cohesive society.

SIAE in the role of national coordinator of the LLW reached an agreement with the Slovenian national coordinator of the European Year of Equal Opportunities for All, the Directorate for the Disabled at the Ministry of Labour, Family and Social Affairs, regarding the promotion of the European year through LLW events and other actions. Through this cooperation, SIAE obtained the moral right for using the European year's logo.
