Learning Exchange from Ljubljana

Learning Exchange, Ljubljana, is operating in the Workers' Library, a unit of the Oton Župančič Library. Here is the oldest crossroads between the seekers and the suppliers of special, often forgotten knowledge and skills. The award is given for the exemplary role of the co-ordinating body of all Learning Exchanges in Slovenia and for outstanding success in the field of promoting the non-formal forms of lifelong learning. The Learning Exchange binds together individuals wishing to learn something and those wishing to offer their knowledge, experiences and information. It is a mediator among people who would like to participate in activities or who would like to meet persons with similar interests or hobbies. A special network of informing the public was developed for this purpose. The Exchange co-operates with various associations, organisations for helping people in distress, for helping people with special needs ... Through the centre for Slovene language it also helps the foreigners to make educational, professional and social contacts.
