The 19th Adult Education Colloquium (AEC) - the most prominent professional event within LLW 2015 - took place on 16 June in Kranjska Gora (Ramada Resort, Planica conference room) on the theme 'I can, therefore I am'. Promoting adult skills. A constituent part of the event was the national opening of the Electronic Platform for Adult Learning in Europe - EPALE.

The AEC was a joint venture of SIAE and the National Support Service for EPALE in Slovenia, located at CMEPIUS. 

In the professional part of the AEC, Helen Casey, expert on basic skills and key competences, took part. In addition, coordinators of EAAL professional events (carried out within the project Implementation of the European Agenda on Adult Learning (EAAL) 2014-2015 in Slovenia) shared their experiences and views. The AEC was an opportunity for defining challenges and recommendations with regard to the OECD survey PIAAC in Slovenia (official results will be available in June 2016).The Slovenian opening of EPALE hosted Geraldine Libreau, European Commission representative for EPALE. Participants had a chance to experience how EPALE works in practice.
