Adult education in the Goriška region (Ajdovščina)

Challenges:

  • Economic crisis and high unemployment rate, especially among young population
  • Improvement of employment possibilities for the unemployed, especially for young people and those with fewer opportunities
  • Development of entrepreneurship, social enterprises, green workplaces as well as self - supply attitude
  • Integration and gradually increasing the adult population share in the lifelong learning process
  • The Centre of intergenerational learning Ajdovščina development activities
  • Consolidation of connections among educational and development organizations and economy
  • Enabling open access to education and counselling for everybody
  • Gaining the national and European educational finance support 

Opportunities:

  • Tradition, quality and developmental attitude of Ljudska univerza Ajdovščina
  • Vast variety of educational offers for target groups of adults
  • Vast variety of educational contents - from enhancement employment programmes to increasing residency quality programmes
  • Integration of vulnerable groups in the educational process: the unemployed, migrants, young people excluded from education or young people with learning disabilities and others
  • Ecouraging intergenerational cooperation and learning
  • Boosting the partner cooperation in close and also wide surroundings
  • Lifelong learning promotion
  • Public network of People's Universities and public institutions in the field of education of adults
