Adult education in the Gorenjska region (Jesenice)

Challenges:

  • Demographic changes (shrinking and ageing population, lower share of young people, migration...).
  • Economic crisis, unemployment and lack of work.
  • Low educational achievement/skills.
  • Unbalanced educational provision and labour market demands.
  • Searching for business opportunities (also cross-border).
  • Information and guidance.
  • Inclusion of marginal target groups into non-formal education and learning.
  • Intergenerational collaboration, transfer of knowledge/skills from older people to the young, and vice versa.
  • Trainiing for greater use of ICT.
  • Cooperation and networking, partnerships.

Opportunities: 

 Lifelong Learning Centre Gorenjska (LLC Gorenjska) located at Jesenice Adult education centre has been active since 2005. It offers integral support in informing, counselling and including individuals into various forms of learning. LL points represent an excellent opportunity for promoting lifelong learning and connecting tenders and users of various forms of informal learning. LLC Gorenjska is based on the partnership of key organizations and non-governmental organizations, which take care of the development of human resources and promotion of lifelong learning in the region.
