In agreement with the Žalec Adult Education Centre, six learning ambassadors collected opinions on adult learning in their communities in April and May. They got responses on what, why, and how adults learn as well as how could politicians support lifelong learning. Their opinions are published in the booklet Let my voice be heard (in Slovenian).
Young adults expressed the desire for practical knowledge, alternative ways of learning and opportunities to gain experience. Somewhat older adults would like to get involved in job related learning, whereas the elderly are looking for learning that would satisfy their hearts and souls. For the Žalec Adult education centre each opinion counts and represents a new challenge. Nevertheless, they were surprised by the length of some responses and the obvious need of people to reveal their thoughts, needs and opinions, and to find ways for converting them into action. Someone wrote: "If a lot of us express our demand for new knowledge and skills politicians will realize that they should allocate more money to lifelong learning." All agreed that it is important for learners to have opportunities to express themselves.
One of the partners in the festival part of the Žalec LP was Mirica Vasle, SIAE award winner 2011, who had also received the local award Oscar for learning presented to her by the Žalec Adult education centre the year before.
Tjaša Dolinšek, Unesco ambassador, took part at the opening press conference of the Žalec LP. Her voice represented the viewpoint of her primary-school peers who are in favour of intergenerational learning.
Among SIAE award winners present at the Žalec LP are also its coordinator, the Žalec Adult Education Centre and the Municipality of Žalec.
