Adult education in the Podravska region (Slovenska Bistrica)

Challenges:

  • Economic crisis leading to the reduction of jobs.
  • High unemployment, especially of young first-job seekers and older than 50 years.
  • Searching for job opportunities across the border.
  • Inadequate education, too high and/or lack of it, causing structural imbalance in the labour market.
  • Many immigrants and members of vulnerable target groups.
  • How to maintain/develop values of lifelong learning in the population?
  • What are the different ideas and new approaches that will yield good results in the future?
  • Establishing quality partnerships that will have positive long-term impact on the community!
  • How the European and national strategies and actions to be implemented in the local community to achieve maximum impact?

Opportunities:

  • Food self-sufficiency with quality, locally produced food.
  • Security.
  • Intergenerational cooperation.
  • Active role of older people in society.
  • Volunteering.
  • Establishing partnerships, local, regional, national...
  • Quality and accessible social sectors (education, health care, culture).
